The Faculty Affairs Office of the SMHS develops, manages, and administers all activities involving the appointment, employment, advancement, and enhancement of the professional development of faculty of the School.
GW SMHS offers many career development opportunities for faculty members, including continuing education resources, development programs, and workshops and events to help you advance your career.
For this year we have developed programming around themes that are strategically important to the school and the faculty. Workshops will be held in Ross Hall Room 402.
In the spring semester each year, full-time faculty are required to complete the Annual Report form, covering their professional activities and accomplishments during that academic year, and the Financial Interest Disclosure form.
Faculty are also required to submit Conflicts of Interest, which relates to situations, activities and transactions that could potentially violate federal, state, or District laws and regulations, or violate GW’s policies and procedures.
The Office of Human Research (OHR) is the administrative support office for The George Washington University Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). The IRB is responsible for the review of all research activities that involve human subjects in accordance with federal regulations. The OHR assists the IRB with reviewing research projects that involve human subjects to ensure that two broad standards are upheld: first, that subjects are not placed at undue risk; second, that they give uncoerced, informed consent to their participation.
