Amit Trivedi, MD, Paramus, Jersey City, NJ “I always knew I wanted to be a doctor and began pursuing my training right after high school. As I was completing my surgical residency, laparoscopic surgery was just coming to the forefront. I recognized immediately that it was the wave of the future and that I wanted to be on the leading edge of minimally invasive procedures.

“What I find most rewarding about bariatric surgery is that it allows me to develop lifelong relationships with my patients. Observing the change in a person’s health from this one intervention is amazing – and the change is almost immediate. It impacts one’s health and personality and changes the way a person is perceived. It’s gratifying to be a part of that.

“I think a lot of people are fearful about weight-loss surgery because they have received misinformation. That’s why we focus on educating our prospective patients right from the start. We want them to know that weight-loss surgery is a good and safe option in the hands of the right surgeon.”
